What is Kafala? An Account of Migrant Labour in Lebanon

Sumayya Kassamali is Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology and the Centre for Diaspora and Transnational Studies at the University of Toronto. Her current research focuses on migrant labour in Lebanon and her additional interests lie in war and displacement, Third World internationalism, and the Muslim diasporas of South Asia, East Africa, and North America.
